Mercè Amat – Head of Research
Ms. Amat has a degree in Biology and a doctorate in Biochemistry from the University of Barcelona and has professional experience in both the biomedical and pharmaceutical sectors. Her doctoral thesis, undertaken at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i de Sant Pau (Barcelona), aimed to identify inflammatory biomarkers. For eight years she was head of biological projects in the therapeutic respiratory and arthritis areas at Almirall. She has also worked as a pre-clinical pharmacology advisor in drafting reports for registration and is an expert in inflammatory markers and animal pathology models.

Judit Amposta – Technical Director and Head of Quality Assurance
Judit Amposta holds a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Barcelona, a Master’s in the Pharmaceutical and Parapharmaceutical Industry (Centro de Estudios Superiores de la Industria Farmacéutica) and post-graduate studies in Pharmaceutical Patents and Registers (University of Barcelona).
She has held posts in the Quality Assurance Department at Alcon and Merck Farma i Química and is a member of the Spanish Association of Industrial Pharmacists (AEFI) where she plays an active role in various task forces on quality. She is also Co-Director of the postgraduate course in Quality Systems in Pharmaceutical Research and Industry in IL3 (Institute for Life Long Learning).
Ms. Amposta is has made significant contributions to implement a Quality Management System based on the new ICHQ8, Q9 and Q10 guidelines in an effort to make Archivel Farma a reference laboratory in the development of a new drug.

Virginia Arcos – Head of Production
Virginia has a degree in Biology with a speciality in Microbiology from the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona.
From 2002 to 2005 she worked for Archivel Technologies, first in the R&D department and subsequently as Head of Production.
During that period she was directly involved in the development of RUTI® through her work with the research group at the Experimental Tuberculosis Unit at the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute of Health Sciences.Since 2005 she has been Head of Production at Archivel Farma. During this time she has overseen both the production of the clinical batches for Phase I and the opening of the new sterile products plant in Badalona (Barcelona).

Cristina Ribó – Head of Quality Control
With a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Barcelona and a Master’s in Pharmaceutical Industry, Cristina Ribó i Ros has previously worked as Head of Process Control at Alcon and as Technical Director at Amorós Nature Technology. She is a member of the Spanish Association of Industrial Pharmacists (AEFI) where she plays an active role in various task forces related to quality.
She is also Co-Director of the postgraduate course in Quality Systems in Pharmaceutical Research and Industry in IL3 (Institute for Life Long Learning).

Núria Suesa i Noé – Head of Regulatory Affairs
Ms. Suesa i Noé is a Doctor in Biological Sciences (University Autónoma of Barcelona) and her career spans more than 20 years in the fields of Biotechnological and Biomedical Research. Since completing her doctorate in Cellular Immunology (1986) she has held various senior positions, firstly in public basic research centres and later in the pharmaceutical industry. For the last four years she has worked in the International Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Department in the R&D area at Almirall.
